Self introduction: - Thomas Tanon

Hi everyone,

I am a software engineer working for a European company in France. I did a PhD on RDF-related topic a Télécom Paris a few years ago. I have also been a Wikidata contributor, both on Wikidata content, its related tooling and its mapping to RDF.

I started learning Rust around 2016 and in 2018 I began to work on Oxigraph because I wanted an open source and efficient RDF/SPARQL toolkit in an other language than Java. Oxigraph now provides quite a few Rust crates, from parsers of N-Triples, Turtle, RDF/XML, SPARQL... to a fully integrated database implementation. Oxigraph aims at being an opinionated implementation focusing on ease of use, correctness and performances (in this order).

Oxigraph seems to get some traction on the adoption side but is still mostly a single person project. A good set of shared API would ease integration of third party components inside of Oxigraph and would hopefully increase significantly its development speed. It would also help reusing Oxigraph components elsewhere and make the Oxigraph development effort even more useful.

Thank you so much Pierre-Antoine for starting this group!

Thomas (Tpt)
