I noticed that that “CompatibilityAnnotation” was added to variable
declaration:

This appears unnecessary:
http://www.w3.org/TR/xquery-update-10/#id-variable-declaration
http://www.w3.org/TR/xquery-update-10/#prod-xquery-VarDecl
