As far as I can see all the URI-related topics in the spec are quite obscure (see the discussions on what is an illegal URI). Also I think I remember that MarkLogic implements a repository that is quite different from what other people like eXist or X-Hive implement. What would you want to specify about collections? Simply the existence of directories and file names or also overwriting, modifying existing documents, subdirectories etc?
