http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=3903 Summary: Please use correct classification terminology Product: XPath / XQuery / XSLT Version: Working drafts Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Full Text AssignedTo: jim.melton@acm.org ReportedBy: mrys@microsoft.com QAContact: public-qt-comments@w3.org The spec currently says: "XML documents may contain highly-structured data (numbers, dates), unstructured data (untagged free-flowing text), and semi-structured data (text with embedded tags)." Not aligned with standard terminology where semi-structured data is not including ordered, mix markup data.... I propose to reword: "XML documents may contain highly-structured data (fixed schemas, known types such as numbers, dates), semi-structured data (flexible schemas and types), markup data (text with embedded tags), and unstructured data (untagged free-flowing text)."
