Summary: xsi namespace prefix is said to be predeclared and bound
to fixed namespace URIs in one section but not in
another
Product: XPath / XQuery / XSLT
Version: Working drafts
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: XQuery
AssignedTo: chamberl@almaden.ibm.com
ReportedBy: kien.lee@rainingdata.com
QAContact: public-qt-comments@w3.org
In "section 2 Basics" of XQuery 1.0: An XML Query Language 3 November 2005
spec, xml, xs, xsi, fn, xdt and local "namespace prefixes are predeclared by
XQuery and bound to fixed namespace URIs."
Yet, in "section 3.7.4 In-scope Namespaces of a Constructed Element", "the
validator will be unable to interpret the namespace prefix xs because it is has
no namespace binding." in the example provided.
Please clarify.
Thanks,
Kien Lee
