Henry, This is a message in response to your last-call comment on XQuery in: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-qt-comments/2004Mar/0056.html The XML Query and XSLT working group have considered your request to provide an XML Schema definition for the xdt: types and decided to accept your comment. Definitions for the xdt:yearMonthDuration and xdt:dayTimeDuration will be provided, but not for the "special" types (xdt:untyped, xdt:anyAtomicType and xdt:untypedAtomic).
