In fact, the latest internal draft of the XQuery language book ahs an appendix intended to serve as a definition for exactly such a MIME type. Although we will look forward to any comments on this appendix as aprt of a future review, the XML Query Working Group has marke this particular comment closed, since we now have defined the mime type; liaison work with IETF will also be needed.
