Section 6.7.1 Overview Technical Why can't we have the constraints about no text nodes allowed to have zero-length string only implied by the parent (doc or element) node, but allow an explicit text node constructor to generate a text node with zero-length string content. This would simplify the semantics and optimization of text node constructors.
