The joint WGs agreed to close the issue raised in your note http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-qt-comments/2004Feb/0974.html by adopting the proposal from Andrew Eisenberg in http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/w3c-xsl-query/2004Aug/0074.html and removing the functions:
fn:subtract-dateTimes-yielding-yearMonthDuration and fn:subtract-dates-yielding-yearMonthDuration which has the same problem.
