Dear Participants in the Publishing Business Group, I write to you today in my capacity as the staff contact for the Web Commerce Interest Group (WCIG) [1]. The WCIG holds a monthly teleconference to discuss topics related to payments and E-commerce more broadly. On 25 March from 10-11am ET, Stefan Thomas and Adrian Hope-Bailie from Coil will discuss: Web Monetization: The Web's Missing Business Model https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-webcommerce-ig/2019Mar/0000 Adrian Hope-Bailie introduced this topic to W3C payments groups at TPAC 2018 [2]. In conversations with Adrian, we concluded that this might be a topic of interest to the publishing community and thus we wanted to raise awareness about the work through the WCIG’s March call. Logistics: * For those with W3C Member access, dial up information: http://www.w3.org/2018/02/wcig-monthly.ics * Meet on irc.w3.org in #wpay. Thank you, Ian Jacobs, W3C payments lead [1] https://www.w3.org/WebCommerce/IG/ [2] https://www.w3.org/2018/10/23-wpwg-minutes#monetization -- Ian Jacobs <ij@w3.org> https://www.w3.org/People/Jacobs/ Tel: +1 718 260 9447
