I would be happy to help on the publusher support and participation front. We will need to lay out clear guidelines that identify the types of assistance needed with whatever qualifications are necessary (ie code knowledge), time commitment, and work flow for both completing and submitting the work.

Some of this may already exist, but it's worth revisiting and revising in order to make sure it can be parsed and easily digested by the group we're trying to target.

Publishing Business Group,

It has been busy end of summer for many of us, and that has caused the business group meetings to be more erratic than any of us would like. The steering committee met last week, and has recommended the following for the business group schedule and agenda in the near future:

  * Move to a monthly meeting that is firm, and has a clearly published agenda
  * Direct specific activities to smaller task forces that bring a recommendation to the business group
  * Renew our efforts in recruiting publisher support and participation in the activities of the business group, working group, and community group

To that end, we are proposing:

  * Adjusting the meetings to be less frequent, ideally enabling two meetings before TPAC, and establishing a regular schedule thereafter
  * Forming a task force to create a recommendation on the ISO question(s)
  * Forming a task force to interact with key W3C groups and bring recommendations back to the BG on how we can better work with them
  * Forming a task force to promote and recruit publisher support and participation in the key activities (in addition to the groups, this includes EPUBcheck, EPUBtest, and other activities)

Look for communication on the above from the various leaders, and more information as the steering committee works thru this.

Tomorrow’s meeting is cancelled.
