I will not be able to attend on Jan. 11 (traveling). At the risk of speaking up before all the candidates come forward, I have to say that I enthusiastically support Daihei. He has been a co-chair with me on the External Coordination TF and he is really terrific to work with. His enthusiasm and initiative are outstanding. He has done a tremendous amount of work to bring folks from the Far East into the conversation. He's the perfect person to extend our reach to Asia--since he already does that!--Bill K On Fri, Dec 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM AUDRAIN LUC <LAUDRAIN@hachette-livre.fr> wrote: > Dear Publishing Steering Committee members, > > > > Following Rick Johnson announcement at the last Pub Sc call to step down > from co-chairing the Publishing Business Group (see minutes[1]), another > co-chair has to be found. > > > > I am pleased to announce that we have a candidate! > > > > Daihei Shiohama, President and CEO at Media Do International, Inc., with > the support of the whole Japanese publishing industry, agrees to candidate > for the position. > > > > The PBG co-chairs already share support to Daihei candidacy. > > > > For the sake of good process, Liisa and I will have to ask the whole PBG > for the eventuality of any other candidacy. > > Let us both know if you have any clues on that subject. > > > > > > As we decided to cancel the Pub SC call of the 28th, we will reconvene on > January 11th next year. > > Meanwhile, I wish you all a happy holiday season. > > > > Luc > > > > [1] > https://w3c.github.io/publ-bg/Steering_Committee/Meetings/2018/2018-12-14-pbgsc > > > -- *Bill Kasdorf* *Principal, Kasdorf & Associates, LLC* *Founding Partner, Publishing Technology Partners <https://pubtechpartners.com/>* kasdorf.bill@gmail.com +1 734-904-6252 ISNI: http://isni.org/isni/0000000116490786 ORCiD: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7002-4786 <https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7002-4786?lang=en>
