Dear Ivan, In a previous message on this list, I just spotted: > (I believe LCP has patent issues in the US…) I have extensive sympathy for you Ivan, but I can't let you propagate false rumors info without any proof (or you should send them to me, I'd be interested). We made an extensive study about existing patents on which Readium LCP could step on, and found none. For the simple reason that LCP is using only good engineering technologies and practices, and no complex invention protected by active patents we know of (the oldest and simplest patents on DRMs were from the mid-90's and fell a few years ago. gone). That doesn't mean that a patent troll will never try to gain some money from LCP creators. It means that we have what is necessary, technically, to defend ourselves, by the simplicity of the technology. That doesn't mean that US people will not be anxious about patent troll attacks, they are continuously. BTW Canada is now using LCP (they are almost Americans), as do French and German professionals; they are not afraid... But it means that you should not promote such rumors on public lists. For other people interested by LCP we're available if you need more info on this technology. Best regards Laurent Le Meur EDRLab
