How about some CSS like selector before the () ? wasGeneratedBy[id](e, a, t, attrs) wasGeneratedBy#id(e, a, t, attrs) If nothing like that will do, I would suggest to simply move id to be the very last argument. As it would be after {attrs} it should be easy to to parse, even if you skip arguments before {attrs}: wasGeneratedBy(e, a, {}, id) On Thu, Apr 19, 2012 at 1:21 PM, Timothy Lebo <lebot@rpi.edu> wrote: > James, > > I really like the suggestion of the semicolon: > > wasGeneratedBy(id;e,a,t,attrs). > > I think that extending it to the Entity/Agent/Activity would make sense. > > > Your suggestion for "absent values" as attributes is quite interesting, and combined with "-" as unknown would clarify the the confusion between the two. > > -Tim > > > On Apr 18, 2012, at 7:33 PM, James Cheney wrote: > >> OK, I've posted my thoughts on this, and a proposal, at: >> >> http://www.w3.org/2011/prov/wiki/Optional_arguments >> >> (Sorry this is a bit long, but I think it is worth being a little pedantic here). >> >> I'd like to keep this open for discussion, but don't think it's a blocking issue. >> >> --James >> >> On Apr 18, 2012, at 10:43 AM, James Cheney wrote: >> >>> Hi, >>> >>> I have been working on the optional arguments in part 2, and I am still not sure what to write baed on what is in part 1 now.
