An international seminar

(in English only)

Institut Mines Telecom Fondation Telecom
46, rue Barrault, 75013 Paris Thursday 17 October 2013

This international seminar has been designed to question the futures of the concept of privacy in the coming 10 years through 3 perspectives: cultural, legal/political as well as economic/technical. The Fondation Telecom conducted some workshops on “How the concept of privacy is likely to evolve in the coming 10 years?” with its partners Alcatel- Lucent, BNP Paribas, Google, Orange and SFR end of 2012 and beginning of 2013. The seminar of the 17 October 2013 intends primarily to enlarge the debate to more experts, as well as to the worldwide level. The second objective is to hear various expressions and paradigms coming from different angles. We believe that sharing various representations of privacy will bring a more global and deeper understanding of the likely evolution of the concept. This is why every roundtable has been casted with a variety of experts coming from different backgrounds and sectors i.e. research, private, not-for profit and public sectors. Finally, the objective of this seminar is to raise key questions in particular where the scope of uncertainty is wide open.
