Hello, In thinking further about this topic of categories of places, I wish to ask if the document which has been released by the EU last month on the topic of geo spatial codes might be of interest. Please look at http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2011:031:0013:0034:EN:PDF which is an appendix to this piece of legislation http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2010:323:0011:0102:EN:PDF Regards, Christine Spime Wrangler cperey@perey.com mobile +41 79 436 6869 VoIP +1 (617) 848-8159 Skype Christine_Perey On 3/9/11 11:22 PM, Seiler, Karl wrote: > > Attached word doc view. > > Category Primitive > > Goal: > > Provide a simple, flexible and open-ended model for the description > for "type of Place." > > Categorization schemes and associated ontology's are highly domain, > region, industry-focus and language specific.
