Looks good; I verified it against the current canonical PNG, pngtest.png,
and apart from one issue (which I raised) it covers the colourspace part of
PNGv3.

@chrisb I suggest that it would be appropriate to add pngtest to
https://github.com/pnggroup  It has always been the authoritative PNG check
program.  Since both you and the current (so far as I can determine)
maintainer of pngcheck are there this seems like it should be something
doable and it is certainly desirable.
