But I might have some good news already for you. ISO TC42/WG18 and W3C PNG
WG are already liaising. Chris Lilley created a proposal for how PNGs could
handle ISO 21496-1 <https://github.com/w3c/PNG-spec/issues/380>. There was
also discussion about supporting half floats and shared exponents.

But more people, connections, and discussion would be good.
