Hello everyone, Topics for our March 6th meeting: - March 24th is when the PNG patent disclosure period ends. I believe the next step is moving to Candidate Recommendation (CR). - We should work to close all GitHub issues marked blocking-3rd-edition-cr <https://github.com/w3c/PNG-spec/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3Ablocking-3rd-edition-cr> [1]. This is mostly on me. - What else do we need for CR? - To help with the implementation experience requirement <https://www.w3.org/2021/Process-20211102/#implementation-experience> [2], does anyone know a good way to get in contact with Cosmin, the maintainer of libpng? Would opening a GitHub issue in libpng be the best route? Cosmis is active there. - Should we simplify the Scope section? (GitHub issue 269 <https://github.com/w3c/PNG-spec/issues/269> [3]) - Can we clean up the mLUm wording? (GitHub issue 271 <https://github.com/w3c/PNG-spec/issues/271> [4]) - Daylight savings timezone alignment problem: - On March 12, the US and Canada move their clocks forward. Most European clocks move on March 26th. This means our meeting on March 20th will be out of sync. Normally, our meetings start at 11am ET (US). Since US clocks will move forward an hour, a Euro-centric point of view would make the March 20th meeting feel like it starts at noon ET. This means the current Greek start time of 6pm will become a start time of 7pm. The 6pm start time was already a bit cruel. But a 7pm start time is downright rude. If we move the meeting up to 10am ET, that now means our Pacific Time attendees will have to wake up earlier. That is also rather rude. See you there!
