As a follow-up to: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-pfwg-comments/2008JanMar/0069.html <input type=search> has been adopted in HTML5 and has excellent graceful degradation behavior. To avoid specifying overlapping features for the Web platform, I suggest removing role=search from ARIA and saying that an <input type=search> if it has no <form> or its <form> if it has one is "The search tool of a web document." -- Henri Sivonen hsivonen@iki.fi http://hsivonen.iki.fi/
