Greetings from the road... As I read Marcos' response, I think he's missed the point of why we approached WebPlat in the first place. I won't speak for all, but in the past, when the accessibility community has come forth with "techniques" or solutions to solve our problems, we've been dismissively rejected by the browser vendors (and previously the HTML 5 WG) as us trying to tell them what is needed (ref: the protracted @longdesc debate and lack of support from Apple, the elimination of the <summary> element, and more). So this time around, we approached them with a collection of use-cases and requested that they work with us to develop/evolve a solution that will be supported by all of the user-agents, and that will be an addition to the HTML specification (*by way of one or more new attributes to the HTML spec*), rather than some prefixed specialty attribute(s) that most mainstream developers will simply not bother to learn. Looking forward to discussing this further on Monday, but it strikes me that Marcos has completely missed the point here (which, at least for me, can be paraphrased as "...help us solve the problem, or promise to accept and support our solution with no push-back"). I also wonder if this has anything to do with the plan to transfer "ownership" of HTML 5 to WHAT WG?
