Hi Ben, Thanks for reaching out. From the Google Chrome side, we are aware of this proposal - we weren't directly involved in its creation but we did and do talk to the teams involved :). We're still evaluating whether there is any need or benefit from the browser being specifically involved and/or any web standards being built around AP2 or similar proposals. I expect we will (as a WG) heavily discuss both AP2 and agentic payments in general at TPAC, and potentially in upcoming WPWG sessions before then (though unfortunately I will miss both Sept 25th and Oct 9th!). Happy to chat further (on thread or in WPWG) if folks have questions, comments, etc :). Thanks, Stephen On Mon, 22 Sept 2025 at 13:08, Ben Kelly <wanderview@meta.com> wrote: > Hi all, > > Someone pointed me to this recent proposal from the Google Cloud org: > > > https://cloud.google.com/blog/products/ai-machine-learning/announcing-agents-to-payments-ap2-protocol > https://ap2-protocol.org/specification/ > > Does anyone on this list has context about how this effort might intersect > with agent commerce on the web?
