Hi Web Payments Working Group, About 25 people participated in the first session of the WPWG code-a-thon. We met on WebEx to identify topics of interest (see minutes [1]). The identified topics were: * “Authentic”: a demo to offer a cascade of authentication options depending on the user’s environment. * “Minimal UI”: the Chrome team has been experimenting with a variation on a payment app experience where the payment app does not open a window but the browser does on its behalf. In particular, there was interest in using this feature for streamlined authentication, that is: authenticate-to-pay. * “Mobile Money”: This project involves connecting GSMA APIs related to mobile money to the Payment Request ecosystem. * “Fastercheckout” and “QR Code”: Entersekt proposed two projects related to streamlined checkout and authentication. * “Card on file”: At TPAC 2019 Airbnb had suggested it would be good to integrate card-on-file and card-stored-in-payment-apps user experiences into a single user experience. The second phase of the code-a-thon is going on now: people have broken out into different projects, each with its own IRC channel. (The IRC channels are available from our main irc channel, #wpwg-code.) We will reconvene on 27 May to check in on progress. For more information, see: https://github.com/w3c/webpayments/wiki/Code-A-Thon-2020 Thanks to all the participants!
