Dear Web Payments Working Group, We received 3 supportive responses to the Call for Consensus [1] proposing to remove PaymentItem.type from Payment Request API at this time. There were no objections, and I believe there was support from browser vendors as well. Therefore, the Chairs record a decision that the proposal carries. The Editors can now remove the feature from the specification; for details see [2].
