Participants in the payments app task force, We meet 25 July from 10-11am ET. WebEx: http://www.w3.org/2017/01/paymentapps-2017.ics Previous meeting: 11 June https://www.w3.org/2017/06/20-apps-minutes.html Proposed next meeting: 8 August Ian ========== Agenda * Issue 153: Removing wallets We will review AdrianHB’s pull request https://github.com/w3c/payment-handler/pull/188 Here is my conclusion after consideration of the issues (which we can review): unless browser vendors expect to support the display of containers, there is little point in pursuing this topic. We have discussed at least four ways for payment app distributors to specify wallet containers, but if the expectation is that user agents will only display instruments, or at most a Web origin with a default instrument, then we should not spend more time writing up “how to specify a wallet”, whatever the solution. * Issue 173: Default instruments. Adrian wrote a proposal: https://github.com/w3c/payment-handler/issues/173#issuecomment-316978011 Adrian and I discussed, then I fleshed out the user scenarios and how they work with the proposal: https://github.com/w3c/payment-handler/issues/173#issuecomment-317497373 This also relates to issue 178, and where information comes from for icons and labels: https://github.com/w3c/payment-handler/issues/178 In particular, Jason and Andre were going to look at this issue so I hope one or both will be able to join the call. * Pull request 170 (re: canMakePaymentEvent and abortPaymentEvent). Are we ready to merge? https://github.com/w3c/payment-handler/pull/170 If so, this would presumably close issues 157, 117 * Issue 116: Relation between merchant order of payment methods and payment app order of instruments Let’s review recent discussion: https://github.com/w3c/payment-handler/issues/116 * What will be necessary to close these? https://github.com/w3c/payment-handler/issues/94 https://github.com/w3c/payment-handler/issues/115 * Next meeting: Proposed 8 August. -- Ian Jacobs <ij@w3.org> https://www.w3.org/People/Jacobs/ Tel: +1 718 260 9447
