The bi-annual mess created by diverging views on the two sides of the pond on when summer time begins shall commence next week (see details below). So the timing of our telcos are still o.k. this week, but it will go made starting next week for three weeks. Nothing we can do about that, just try to survive the mess... Ivan -------- Original Message -------- Subject: US clocks move to Summer Time Sunday, 8 March Resent-Date: Mon, 02 Mar 2009 14:14:32 +0000 Resent-From: chairs@w3.org Date: Mon, 02 Mar 2009 09:13:59 -0500 From: Ralph R. Swick <swick@w3.org> To: chairs@w3.org CC: adminreq@w3.org Semi-annual reminder of the start of Daylight Savings Time -- aka Summer Time -- coming next week to the US. Most of the US will be moving its clocks forward this year on March 8 (one week from yesterday). This is 3 weeks earlier than Europe. Most Zakim teleconference times are based on the US clocks. Therefore, unless groups have sent specific requests to base their teleconference times on some other timezone or to change your teleconference times this month, most folk outside the US will need to join teleconferences 1 hour earlier between 8 March and 29 March. After 29 March most teleconferences will be back on the same relative local time for Europe. The [1]teleconference calender is the authoritative source for the Zakim schedule -- this page is generated from the same database that nightly downloads into the hardware. The calendar shows UTC times for each day of each teleconference in the dated (monthly calendar) section. The UTC times are all linked to a service that will give you the corresponding local times for major cities around the world *for that particular date*. In the conference details section of the calendar, both the Boston local time and the UTC time are shown *for the next occurrence* of each teleconference. If you are unsure about the scheduled time of any teleconference, check the UTC link above the teleconference name on the specific date of that teleconference; e.g. [2]. If you require any changes to individual teleconference times, please be sure to give adminreq sufficient notice [3].
