At this stage I would not worry too much about automating it - just
start with an initial list, so we can all look at things, and do a
manual 'bulk load' into the OpenTrack database. This is also
probably the best way to choose the 'persistent nicknames' from our
URL scheme.
We have quite a well developed database behind here....
https://data.opentrack.run/o/
....but we don't have time to build the import and display tools, as
competition schemas come first. So getting a lot of things in a
Google Sheet is a great start. We can contribute about 2000 club
records from the UK.
Regrettably I cannot join the call as I have to travel to a meeting.
but we can contribute
- about 2000 clubs, regional and national federations from UK
- 500 verified tracks, with latitude and longitude
- 1200 competitions per year from the European calendar
