Solid is using matrix/element and I assume it is mostly “decentralised”, considering there is an “overlap” of participants between both communities (I see Sarven, Beatriz and Harsh in Solid).

Other groups use Discord (Eclipse, some open source libraries, some blockchain), but I think there is less overlap and the environment itself looks more “chaotic and commercial” (my teenager uses Discord for a lot of social interactions).

Hi Joshua,

When I first joined a W3C group in 2008, scribing in the meetings used to happen in irc.
I wonder whether any innovation has happened since them.
What is the practice in other groups? Shouldn't decentralised apps be a favourite for W3C?
(I speak from my ignorance, for I dont know much about these new tools....)

I just tested Matrix, still exploring...

Hello,

Following my observations around how some other communities work, and to test if we can get more interactive, I have created:

I use Element (which should be the first one listed), but there is an extensive list of applications.

Regards,
