Dear all, In the VirtualGoods/ODRL Workshop of 2011, I advocated for the use of semantic technologies for licensing [1], declaring the good position of ODRL to do this and its potential if used together with Linked Open Data. Now that a draft ODRL Ontology has been released, I would like to call the attention for the use of ODRL to license Linked Data. Linked Data as a marketable asset, possibly licensed with ODRL. Has it been analyzed whether the current vocabulary suffices for describing the scenario of marketable RDF datasets? I have just subscribed to the list, and I have had an overview of the previous posts, I hope I haven't overlooked a thread discussing this... To introduce myself: I have been for 6 years with Jaime Delgado, who produced together with Roberto Garcia an ontology version of ODRL almost 10 years before the "official" one now. Actually I mantained its description at [2], which you can visit as an archeological record. Now I am with the OEG at the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, having surveyed the licensing status of Linked Open Data datasets [3] and wondering how long will it take until we see ODRL triples of your newly defined ontology to declare the license of RDF datasets... Wouldn't it be worthy even as a simple testing exercise?
