Hello,
With this charter review notice, the W3C Team initiates refinement for a
draft Dataset Exchange Working Group charter:

The mission of the Dataset Exchange Working Group is to maintain the
DCAT Recommendation and the Data Cube Recommendation, and to extend them
with a new REC-track specification focusing on Variable Description,
tapping into previous work in this area by the DDI Alliance [1].
The group is designed as a joint Working Group with the DDI Alliance. In
accordance with Section 8 of the Process Document [2], the Team will
provide a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the DDI Alliance
for AC review and discussion once it becomes available.

Section 4.2 of the Process Document [3] describes activities during
charter refinement and the role of the Chartering Facilitator to seek
consensus among those who provide feedback about the charter.
The Team estimates that this charter refinement will last until
approximately February 2026.
