Advance notice: Work in progress on Media Working Group Charter

Hello,

This is an advance notice that the W3C Team is currently working on a
new charter [1] for the Media Working Group.

The mission of the Media Working Group is to develop and improve
client-side media processing and playback features on the Web.

The current charter expires at the end of May 2025. The objective of the
new charter is to continue work on ongoing deliverables. The draft
charter has already been updated to reflect planned work on some of the
group's deliverables (WebCodecs, Media Source Extensions, Encrypted
Media Extensions) during the new charter period.

We welcome input and feedback on the draft charter. If you wish to make
your comments public, you're welcome to raise issues on the repository
where the draft charter is being developed (see [2]), or by sending
email to public-media-wg@w3.org (archive [3]).

W3C Members may also discuss this on the member-confidential mailing
list <w3c-ac-forum@w3.org>. You may also provide feedback on the
Strategy Team's issue in GitHub [4].

If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free
to contact François Daoust at <fd@w3.org>.

A formal Advisory Committee Review for this charter is expected before
the end of May.

This announcement follows section 4.1 of the Process Document:

Thank you,

For Philippe le Hégaret, W3C Strategy and Project Lead;
