Hello,
This is an advance notice that the W3C Team is currently working on a
charter for a Publishing Maintenance Working Group. The draft charter
under development is at:
https://w3c.github.io/publ-maintenance-wg-charter/
The mission of the proposed Publishing Maintenance Working Group is to
maintain the W3C Recommendations, as well as related Notes, in the area
of Digital Publishing published by the Audiobooks and the EPUB Working
Groups.
In the past few years the Audiobooks Working Group acted as a
Maintenance Group for the Publishing Working Group. Furthermore, with
the successful completion planned in 2023 the EPUB Working Group the
need for an EPUB Maintenance Working Group was recognized. As the
community supporting these groups is virtually identical and there is a
major overlap in the technical content, the proposal is to create a
single Working Group. This Working Group would maintain the complete
roster of Recommendations and Notes in the Digital Publishing activity,
with the goal of creating consistency and avoiding duplication of effort.
We welcome input and feedback on the draft charter. If you wish to make
your comments public, please use GitHub issues:

W3C Members may also discuss on the member-confidential mailing list
<w3c-ac-forum@w3.org>.
If you should have any questions or need further information, please
feel free to contact Ivan Herman <ivan@w3.org>.
A formal Advisory Committee Review for this charter is expected in May.
