Hello, We have extended the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group Charter until 2023-10-31: https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-gl/2023AprJun/0060.html Best regards, Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Accessibility Guidelines Working Group Charter extended until 31 October 2023 Date: Thu, 27 Apr 2023 20:43:17 +0800 From: xueyuan <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, [This announcement will be forwarded to the group and to W3C group chairs] The Accessibility Guidelines Working Group charter is hereby extended until 31 October 2023. https://www.w3.org/2019/12/ag-charter The mission of the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group is to develop specifications to support making implementations of web technologies accessible for people with disabilities, and to develop and maintain implementation support materials. The AC has already reviewed [1] a proposed new charter [2] for the Working Group. All voters approved the proposed charter, some with clarification requests for which we have worked out consensus wording with commenters but not yet integrated into the draft. However, this charter does not include normative work on WCAG 2, which was expected to be a Recommendation by the time the new charter goes into effect. WCAG 2.2 will soon be published as a third Candidate Recommendation to address implementation feedback, and therefore will not be a Recommendation before the expiry of the current charter which includes WCAG 2 in its scope. This charter extension is to allow completion of WCAG 2.2. More information about the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group can be found on its home page [3], including information about group Chairs, Team Contact and instructions for joining the group. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Michael Cooper <cooper@w3.org>, Accessibility Guidelines WG Team Contact. This extension follows section 4.5 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2021/Process-20211102/#charter-extension Thank you, For Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director, Michael Cooper, Accessibility Guidelines WG Team Contact; Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications [1] https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-new-work/2022Oct/0013.html [2] https://www.w3.org/2022/10/proposed-ag-charter [3] https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/ag
