Hello, We have extended the Timed Text Working Group Charter until 30 June 2022 https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-tt/2022Apr/0010.html Best regards, Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Timed Text Working Group Charter extended until 30 June 2022 Date: Thu, 28 Apr 2022 14:15:15 +0800 From: xueyuan <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, [This announcement will be forwarded to W3C group chairs] The Timed Text Working Group charter [1] is hereby extended until 30 June 2022. The mission of the Timed Text Working Group is to develop W3C Recommendations for the representation of timed text in media, including developing and maintaining new versions of the Timed Text Markup Language (TTML) and WebVTT (Web Video Text Tracks) based on implementation experience and interoperability feedback, and the creation of semantic mappings between those languages. Advisory Committee Review of the proposed charter [2] ended in March with three unresolved Formal Objections by Google, Apple, and Mozilla. This extension will give W3C additional time to issue the decision on the Formal Objections against the proposed Working Group charter. [...] More information about the Timed Text Working Group can be found on its home page [3]. The group is currently chaired by Gary Katsevman (W3C Invited Expert), Nigel Megitt (British Broadcasting Corporation). If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Team Contact Atsushi Shimono <atsushi@w3.org>. This extension follows section 4.5 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2021/Process-20211102/#charter-extension Thank you, For Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director, and Atsushi Shimono, Timed Text WG Team Contact; Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications [1] https://www.w3.org/2020/12/timed-text-wg-charter.html [2] https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-new-work/2022Feb/0012.html [3] https://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/
