Hello, This is an advance notice that a draft charter for an Editing Working Group is being prepared, with a mission "to explore limitations in existing browser primitives, provide use cases for new APIs and suggest solutions either by standardizing of existing behaviors or introducing new APIs relevant for text editing". The Editing Task Force is currently part of the WebApps Working Group. In January the WebApps WG started a CfC [1] to separate the Editing TF from the WebApps WG and to move a few relevant specifications to the new WG. The CfC passed with multiple expressions of support and no objections. The draft charter is at: https://w3c.github.io/editing/charter-drafts/editing-2021.html We welcome your input and feedback on the draft charter in the GitHub repository, where feedback is public: https://github.com/w3c/editing/issues W3C Members may also discuss on the member-confidential mailing list <w3c-ac-forum@w3.org>. If you should have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact Xiaoqian Wu <xiaoqian@w3.org>. A formal Advisory Committee Review for this charter is expected in one month.
