Hello,

This is an advance notice that a draft charter for a new Decentralized
Web Interest Group is being prepared, with a mission "to evolve
recommendations to further the W3C’s One Web purpose by identifying,
balancing and mitigating the unintended impacts of proposals early in
the process, encouraging uniform change, and promoting OpenStand
principles."

This proposed Interest Group anticipates beginning its work by taking up
two draft documents that have been produced by participants in the
Improving Web Advertising Business Group. The draft charter envisions
guidelines, input to other W3C groups, and comments to the AC. The group
would not produce specifications.

The draft charter is at:
https://w3c.github.io/charter-drafts/decentralized-charter.html

We welcome input and feedback on the draft charter in the charter-drafts
GitHub repository, where feedback is public:

W3C Members may also discuss on the member-confidential mailing list
<w3c-ac-forum@w3.org>.

If you have any questions or need further information, please contact
Wendy Seltzer <wseltzer@w3.org>.

This announcement follows section 5.2.2 of the W3C Process Document:
