[wbs] response to 'Call for Review: Proposed Charter for Audio Working Group'

The following answers have been successfully submitted to 'Call for Review:
Proposed Charter for Audio Working Group' (Advisory Committee) for Web3D
Consortium by Don Brutzman.

The reviewer's organization supports this Charter as is.
The reviewer's organization intends to participate in these groups:
   - Audio

The reviewer's organization:
   - intends to review drafts as they are published and send comments.
   - intends to develop products based on this work.
   - would be interested in participating in any press activity connected
with this group.

Comments about the deliverables:
The Extensible 3D (X3D) Working Group is pursuing development of version
4 of the X3D Graphics International Standard. Primary goal is alignment
and integration with HTML5/DOM. Subsequent efforts for X3D v4.1 will
further enhance X3D to support the ISO SC24/SC29 Mixed Augmented Reality
(MAR) Reference Model. The MAR spectrum includes VR; indeed X3D is a
direct and compatible extension of the original Virtual Reality Modeling
Language (VRML). In every case, the role of audio is central to proper
multimedia integration.

Comments about implementation schedule:
Audio working group timelines overlap well with planned work on X3D v4
and v4.1. X3D development efforts include implementation and evaluation of
content using 2 or more implementations, so test reports are expected as
well.

General comments:
The X3D working group will periodically request/recommend participation
of an X3D audio expert in the Audio Working Group.

The recent W3C Workshop on Web and Virtual Reality (VR) covered multiple
synergies and also exposed the shared need for better 3D spatialization
conventions.

We look forward to further complementary, collaborative effort together.
