The Mobile Web in Indian Languages Community Group has been proposed: -------------------------------------------------- W3C India Office is setting up Community Group on Mobile Web in Indian Languages with the objective of addressing the issues concerning with the enablement of mobile , smartphones and next generation wireless devices with Indian Languages support, seamless SMS & MMS sending and receiving in Indian Languages , Uniform user experience on the mobile through using Indian Languages, and accessing of Indian Languages websites from mobiles. The goal is to achieve seamless access and operation irrespective of the mobile manufacturers and service providers. This group will help in building the eco-system for enhancing the penetration of mobiles in the country to the rural areas using the Indian Languages enablement. The Group will also explore and develop the Indian Languages requirements in existing and futuristic Mobile Communication standards. -------------------------------------------------- You are invited to support the creation of this group: http://www.w3.org/community/groups/proposed#mobindic Once the group has a total of five supporters, W3C launch the group and people can join to begin work.
