Hi, As per my ACTION-61, I've started to work on test plan for Widgets P&C: http://dev.w3.org/2006/waf/widgets/tests/plan.html (based on http://dev.w3.org/cvsweb/2006/waf/widgets/tests/plan.html ) To build it, I went through the following steps: 1. extract the test assertions from the widgets spec through the XSLT I developed last week [1] 2. separate them depending on which class of product they apply (User Agent, Conformance Checker, Zip Archive, Config file [the latter two being somewhat bogus IMO]) 3. for each of them, guess whether we already have one or more tests cases for the corresponding assertion 4. for those where we don't (red background in the test case column), propose a possible way to test the said assertion 5. in the last column, some comments e.g. when the assertion seems too generic to be tested, redundant, or when the feature cannot really be tested in a strict P&C context Step 3. was done mostly on my fuzzy recollection of the current content of the test suite - I'm hoping I've missed many cases where we in fact already have test cases. I don't think I have all the useful test assertions (in step 1.), since quite a few of them don't use the conformance keywords (e.g. when describing what user agents should do when parsing big chunk of configuration files - hopefully we can complete that over time as we find missing stuff. Kai, could you take a pass at the document, and update it based on your much better knowledge of the test suite and of the spec? Hopefully, we can make this document ready enough for starting to split out the work during our call next week, and invite others to contribute to it on public-webapps.
