I confess I don't know what the 'c', 'x', 'e', etc. stand for. I did a bit of research and found this discussion: http://www.banjohangout.org/archive/193539 Relevant snippet: "Okay, well here's a theory. Tabledit was written in France and the word for the ring finger in French is "Annulaire", so that may be what the 'A' stands for. Unfortunately, the word for the little finger - Auriculaire - also begins with an 'A'. My guess is that the word would be pronounced as if it began with an 'O', i.e. "o-rick-u-laire". So maybe because the 'A' was already used for the ring finger he went with the 'O' for the pinky. Just a theory." -- GitHub Notification of comment by adrianholovaty Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/smufl/issues/34#issuecomment-212010045 using your GitHub account
