Chord symbols

I'm wondering why the glyphs in the Chord-symbols range have different guidelines with regard to spacing and registration than the Function-theory range. Since both of these may be used in much the same way, and also has the potential to be used together, wouldn't it be better to apply the same guidelines? Presently the glyphs in the Chord-symbols range cannot easily be used in a string of text, and as such are only appropriate for use in a context where symbols can be moved both horizontally and vertically (e.g. the chord tool in a scoring application). The Function-theory range on the other hand, is presently applicable to both inline text and within a more specialized environment.

In addition, there are a few symbols not presently included that might benefit this range, some of which might also be appropriate for the Function theory range (although, with similar spacing and registration, duplication might be unnecessary).

I would suggest the following alterations and additions to make SMuFL more efficient in handling chord symbols in different situations:

1. Alter the registering guidelines of the Chord-symbols range to match those of the Function-theory range.
2. Redo the chord-symbols glyphs (in Bravura and Bravura Text) to match the style of the function-theory glyphs (TexGyre Heros).
3. Apply superscript sizing and registration to glyphs in the range U+E870–U+E874.
4. Apply regular script registration to parenthesis and brackets.
5. Add regular script plus, minus, delta (major7) symbols.
6. Add triple hight parenthesis and brackets.
7. Add Upper case letters (A–H) for note names.
(9.) Add (stylized) accidentals to be used with the glyphs in the range.
