Setting scale beyond 4 does not seem to increase the site of checkbox radio input any further, the target size prtobably remaining well below 44x22 Depends on the browser. I've not tested on Mac, but on Windows IE, Edge, Firefox, Chrome all scale it for whatever number. Also, the point wasn't: this is a technique that allows me to scale it to a specific size. The point here was to demonstrate that those controls don't count as "unstylable" / not modifyable by authors, because clearly they can. So this again means that the "not modified by the author" bit doesn't really count I'd say, because the author CAN style them to make them big enough, but didn't do it. So exempting them is a weak excuse. > - and what happens when clicking (at least on OS X) it is surely of a weirdness that no designer would want to use. But the point of the exception was not that it is not doable somehow (with overlays or whatever) but that the requirement to ensure target size for these elements would be onerous for those who put out a page with minimal styling (say, just font-size:2em on body) and want to use form controls. And this is again an interpretation which is not apparent from the normative text of the SC, which is a real shame, because it'll then need to be clarified in the informative text, which is of course weak and open to interpretation.
