Proposed talk: Overview of standards work at the W3C, IETF and Unicode, including up to the moment work. Proposed talk: Resources for content developers from the W3C. An overview of the best practice resources available for web content developers, specification developers, and others at http://www.w3.org/International . There are task-based indexes leading to articles, tutorials and techniques documents. There is also a test suite that has been used by browser developers. The talk will also introduce the i18n checker and IANA Language Subtag Registry search tool.
