Upcoming Merchant group meeting -

Hello everyone

You might have seen via my LinkedIn post that I've started a bit of a push
on trying to get retailers along to our sessions in November.

As a reminder, the first session is on 1st November. Details below - would
be super awesome if you or your organisation could do some signal boosting
via Social Media. If you're feeling even more inclined to help, I've
included a short description of the event that you could use to market the
session.

Thanks

Nick

W3C Merchant Community Group (5pm GMT, 10am PDT, 1pm EDT, 1st November 2021)

A free-to-join community group, co-chaired by John O'Brien (FIS Worldpay)
and Melanie O'Brien (Coles Group), within the World Wide Web Consortium
(W3C), an international standards organisation founded by Tim Berners-Lee to
develop Web standards.

The mission of the Merchant Community Group ("Merchant CG") is to improve
the Web for people and organisations that sell goods or services or accept
donations online. This includes both business-to-business (B2B) merchants,
business-to-consumer (B2C) merchants as well as not-for-profit donation
acceptors. In this non-technical forum, participants will discuss merchant
challenges, how emerging Web technologies could help address them, and what
additional Web capabilities may be necessary.

On 1st November, the group is running a focus session on payments on the
web. We will hear from speakers on the latest developments in "buy now pay
later", non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and Secure Payment Confirmation.

The meeting is free to attend, and gives merchants the opportunity to hear
about the latest challenges and advances in online payments.
