Hi Media WG participants, W3C received a liaison letter from ISO/IEC JTC1 SC 29/WG03 (MPEG Systems) addressed at the Media WG. A PDF copy of the letter is available at (member-only link): https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/member-web-and-tv/2025Jul/att-0002/ISO-IEC_JTC_1-SC_29_N22981_Liaison_statement_from_SC_29-WG_3_to_W3C__Media_WG___ONVIF_and_CTA_WAVE_on_Common_encryption_for_ISOB In substance, the letter informs and welcomes feedback from the group about: 1. An amendment to ISO/IEC 23001-7:2023 enabling support for AES-256 and other improvements, available at: https://www.mpeg.org/wp-content/uploads/mpeg_meetings/150_OnLine/w25023.zip The letter notes the relation with the MPEG-CENC Version Support issue: https://github.com/w3c/encrypted-media/issues/563 2. An exploration document describing potential approaches to mitigate the "DeCENC" attack, to published on July 18th at WG3N1560. The letter also invites experts in the group to a dedicated meeting on the above topics, in the San Francisco Bay Area, during the last week of August, with remote participation possible. Those interested should subscribe to the mp4-sys mailing-list where details should get circulated: https://lists.aau.at/mailman/listinfo/mp4-sys Thanks, François
