First one: Silvia who asked for using the js library for having a
validator
<scribe> ACTION: thomas to develop the validator page using his js
library for media fragments [recorded in
[15]http://www.w3.org/2011/06/22-mediafrag-minutes.html#action01]
<trackbot> Created ACTION-228 - Develop the validator page using his
js library for media fragments [on Thomas Steiner - due 2011-06-29].
Second one:
[16]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-media-fragment/2011Ma
y/0037.html
[16]
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-media-fragment/2011May/0037.html
scribe: from Chris
... except for the loop, all other comments have been adressed
Chris: I confirm
Third one: Boris and Fantasai
The CSS3 spec mentions media fragment:
[17]http://dev.w3.org/csswg/css3-images/#url
[17] http://dev.w3.org/csswg/css3-images/#url
The SVG 1.1 spec: [18]http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG/struct.html#Overview
[18] http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG/struct.html#Overview
Silvia: I would like to come back to Chris bugs ... we confirmed a
number of things, but what has been implemented already?
... but Ian's resolution of some HTML5 bugs goes against this
... so what has been actually implemented
Chris: I might have have a version to release this Friday
<doublec> silvia: what bugs are different to what's discussed in the
email?
Yves: at the last TAG meeting, we discuss fragments in general
... the SVG fragment itself (viewport) though it is not a XPointer
... the fragment as defined in XML
... the image that re-uses our media fragment syntax
<Yves>
[19]http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG/linking.html#SVGFragmentIdentifiers
[19] http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG/linking.html#SVGFragmentIdentifiers
SVGview has a XPointer like syntax
Yves: the fact we are always using an equal sign, means we don't
generate XML id, so no conflict possible
... not something that can be interpreted in different ways by 2
different processors
Raphael: should we discuss with CSS or SVG or Hypertext CG?
Yves: go for CG
... point out the 2 threads, and let us know if there are issues
... so a request for review from the CG
<scribe> ACTION: troncy to bring the CSS/SVG/Media Fragments
possible issues to the CG group [recorded in
[20]http://www.w3.org/2011/06/22-mediafrag-minutes.html#action02]
<trackbot> Created ACTION-229 - Bring the CSS/SVG/Media Fragments
possible issues to the CG group [on Raphaël Troncy - due
2011-06-29].
ACTION-224?
<trackbot> ACTION-224 -- Raphaël Troncy to send a reply to the 4
commenters -- due 2011-06-15 -- OPEN
<trackbot>

3. HTML5 Bugs
[22]http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10723
[22] http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10723
Should a UA stop playing at the end of a media fragment
Raphael: stop or actually pause depending on the implementation?
This bug is WONTFIX stage, and points to
[23]http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12643
[23] http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12643
Chris: I can re-open the bug once my implementation is here
Raphael: I'm for re-opening the bug once we have example of
implementations that contradict Hixie's thought ... e.g. Mozilla and
Opera
[24]http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12643
[24] http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12643
Raphael: a new bug
Silvia: unsure it concerns that much media fragment
[25]http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12426
[25] http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12426
Raphael: looping over media fragments
... for hixie, looping means playing from the start of the media,
ignoring the fragment
Silvia: Thomas sent numerous use cases
<Yves> but with the fragment, the requested media is the fragment
Raphael: indeed,
[26]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-media-fragment/2011Ju
n/0038.html
[26]
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-media-fragment/2011Jun/0038.html
Chris: we wait for the spec clarification
Silvia: as soon as there is user interaction, the media fragments
goes away
... I'm not sure loop will be widely implemented anyway ... since
most of the behavior could be done in js
<silvia> … I'm in support of deprecating the loop attribute
altogether :-)
Raphael: Thomas wants to re-open this bug
... Chris and Philip think that loop should be deprecated anyway
[27]http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12425
[27] http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12425
<Yves> silvia, it might be a possibility yes
Should the UI (and UX) playing a temporal media fragment be
standardized?
<Yves> I agree with Hixie that this is UA specific
Raphael: I think Hixie is right, this is not really our business
Silvia: I agree with that too
Raphael: I will close this bug, we accept this resolution
[28]http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12427
[28] http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12427
Raphael: Hixie is saying that this depends on the MIME type of the
resource so not HTML5 business
Silvia: don't do anything, depends on discussion with CSS/SVG group
discussions
Raphael: I did generate diff files

c/lc1-lc2-diff.htm

4. Splitting out the spec?
Against splitting: Silvia, Raphael
For splitting: Yves (rationale = don't put several ways of doing the
same thing)
<Yves> yes, as it is bad for interop
<davy> I'm also against splitting the spec
Raphael: Philip seems to want that the HTTP part gets out of the
spec
<Yves> section 5.2
<doublec> sorry phone problems
<doublec> pointer to thread about split?
Chris:
[31]http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-media-fragment/2011Ju
n/0021.html
[31]
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-media-fragment/2011Jun/0021.html
<silvia> how about doing a questionnaire?
<Yves> +1
<scribe> ACTION: troncy to open a questionnaire for splitting out or
not (the section 5.2 of) the spec [recorded in
[32]http://www.w3.org/2011/06/22-mediafrag-minutes.html#action03]
<trackbot> Created ACTION-230 - Open a questionnaire for splitting
out or not (the section 5.2 of) the spec [on Raphaël Troncy - due
2011-06-29].
5. AOB
Raphael: I will put the media fragments list in cc for the exchange
with the hypertext CG
... goal is then to answer the questionnaire and vote for
transitioning next week
