AFAICT, you can't get MathJax client-side rendering to work with 
Echidna setup. IIRC it failed at least the HTML and CSS validation. 
For the (gory) details of preprocessing steps needed, see build.js. To
 fix this, one would need to patch MathJax. I don't have time for that
 currently, but if you do, feel free to fix the bug in MathJax. Here's
 the related issue I opened: 

The end product, the generated spec at 
https://w3c.github.io/mediacapture-depth/ does not have any MathJax 
scripts, just the MathJax generated markup so I think it is not an 
issue to load the MathJax script off of cdn.mathjax.org in the spec 
source index.src.html to get the latest.
