Progress of the test suite

Dear all,

since we had no time in yesterday´s telecon to discuss the progress of  
the test suite, i would like to raise a small discussion in the  
mailing list about it.

As far as i know, there was only the poll, who of the group is willing  
to contribute to a possible test suite (see item 2c in [1] for the  
list of participants). There was some work already done by some guys  
regarding the test suite (collecting apps for automatic generation of  
tests, visualisation proposals, etc.). Unfortunately, this information  
is - more or less - lying idle in the wiki or the mail archive. I  
would suggest the following procedure: if somebody finds something  
interesting, please edit also the wiki entry [2] - this helps us to  
keep the overview instead of digging through the mail archive.

I will try to go through the mailing archive to update the wiki page  
(perhaps i can manage it till Tuesday).

Anyway, we should think about a possible plan, how we could organize  
the work on the test suite - from my point of view, we are not really  
focused on the open issues. I think we have to define work packages  
(assigned to one or more partiipants) in order to get first drafts soon.
