Hi! I re-read the current draft of the Ontology document, and I think that it shapes up nicely, good job! I still have a set of comments though, sorry to send them late to the mailing list, but it looked like the ontology document was updated on an hourly basis, so I was waiting for a stable version to be accessible :) Below, my list of comments. Best, Véronique 1/"This vocabulary describes a mapping between different schemas containing this property." -> this is not what we do, but we do what is described later in the same section: define a set of mappings between the values/properties of a set of schemas and the porperties of our own name space. 2/ "More importantly, the Dublin Core properties have been created with a set of restrictions, although loose, and we might want to apply other restrictions to our properties." -> to change to "we want", not might want 3/ "A list of properties by a cross validation between the member's opinion and the popularity of the properties across the vocabularies has been selected in order to get some level of objectiveness." -> A list of properties has been selected by a cross validation..., in order to... 4/ I do not understand the meaning of the namespaces in the Datatype column of the media ontology (ma core properties) definition table 5/ ma:identifier for example has something that looks like a pair as Datatype, but the textual description does not mention the fact that the value is a pair, unlike some other properties which have pairs as values: is the value a pair or not? If it is one, this should be mentioned in the description. 6/ "4.2.1 Rationale regarding the mapping table" the namespace ma is introduced here only, although it is used in the previous table. Generally, this paragraph does not integrate well with the introduction to the previous table and should be rewritten to fit the document better, and focus on the transition: the above listed properties are the ones to which the selected set of metadata schemas has been mapped. The rationale for selecting formats has already been described before.
