As it is mentionned in the Ontology for Media Resource 1.0, Status of 
this Document section; "The Working Group expects to advance this 
specification to Recommendation Status".

The mapping tables included in the Ontology specification are 
established from the Media Ontology's core properties to various 
multimedia metadata formats. This list of formats is not closed, nor 
does it pretend to be exhaustive. A future version of this specification 
MAY include additional mappings if a need or use case is established for 
these new mappings.

To focus on your request and your proposal to externalize these mapping 
tables from the document, into an informative Working Group Note, the 
Working Group would prefer to keep these mappings into the Ontology 
specification in a normative section. If these metadata formats mappings 
are not defined normatively, it will definitively create 
interoperability issues.

Nevertheless, the list of formats is currently not closed, nor does it 
pretend to be exhaustive. A future version of this specification may 
include additional metadata format mappings.
